14-year-old Hakizimaana Morris from Kukamoni Village Nyakabande Kisoro district is stuck in Rukungiri Municipality after walking for over 50 km in search of his mother.
He says his mother Tushabe Marcelina who originates from Rukungiri but was married to Surugume Vian of Kukamoni Village, left Kisoro district 3 months ago headed for Rukungiri District where she hails from after a disagreement with her husband.
Hakizimaana says his father is a brickmaker.
He narrates that he boarded a taxi to Ntungamo from where he walked to Rukungiri in search of his mother
Hakizimaana says that his father re-married shortly after their mother left, and life became complicated for him following mistreatment from his step mother for and he decided to use all available means to reach Rukungiri in search of his mother.
Unfortunately, Hakizimaana does not know the exact village from which his mother hails
He claims the he is the last born out of 9 children.
Morris seeks help in locating his mother and reuniting with her.
